American Gas Association (AGA) Issues Study on Implications of Policy-Driven Residential Electrification

AGA releases study designed to answer questions regarding potential costs and benefits of residential electrification policies. The questions include:

  • Will policy-driven residential electrification actually reduce emissions?
  • How will policy-driven residential electrification impact natural gas utility customers?
  • What will be the impacts on the power sector and on electric transmission infrastructure requirements?
  • What will be the overall cost of policy-driven residential electrification?
  • How do the costs of policy-driven electrification compare to the costs of other approaches to reducing greenhouse gas emissions?
The American Gas Foundation (AGF) has gained recognition as a valuable source of information on energy issues that affect public policy. AGF focuses on raising the visibility of the Foundation, extending its outreach to other segments inside and outside of the natural gas industry and increasing our portfolio of important public policy studies and programs.
