Washington, D.C. — Sid McAnnally, Senior Vice President of Operations of ONE Gas, has been elected to serve as chairman of the American Gas Foundation’s (AGF) board of trustees. He was elected during AGF’s Board of Trustees meeting held on October 4, 2018.
“We are honored to have Sid serve as chairman of the AGF as we embark on several important research initiatives on energy and environmental issues that affect public policy, with a particular emphasis on natural gas, said Richard Murphy, executive director of AGF. “Sid brings great passion and a sense of urgency to the AGF as it pursues its mission of to help formulate fact-based energy policies that will serve this country well in the future.”
In his role at ONE Gas, McAnnally is responsible for operations of its three natural gas utilities – Oklahoma Natural Gas Company, Kansas Gas Service and Texas Gas Service. Prior to joining ONE Gas, McAnnally served as senior vice president of customer service and marketing for Alabama Gas Corporation, where he was responsible for all customer-facing activities of the company. Before joining Alabama Gas, McAnnally practiced law, representing utility, financial and corporate clients. In the community, he serves as co-chair of the Tulsa Regional Economic Development Committee, is a member of the executive committee of the Tulsa Regional Chamber, and with his wife, April, has chaired fundraising efforts for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and the Alzheimer’s Association of Oklahoma.
Founded in 1989, the AGF is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on being an independent source of information, research and programs on energy and environmental issues that affect public policy. Overseen by a board of trustees, the AGF has delivered numerous key public policy reports since 2000 and has sponsored executive level forums and events focusing on energy supply.
